TRAVEL + TRADE

May skies stir with double retrogrades and 1-of-2 summer eclipses, setting us up for June where the full story plays out. May-June signal changes in travel restrictions, data privacy, media/social media, supply chain logistics, education reform, foreign policy, and local community advocacy. See what it means for your life below…

5/3 OPTIONS & OPPORTUNITIES. Spread your message or start that new project today while messenger Mercury hitches a ride with lucky traveler Jupiter. You’re in good company as decisive Sun teams with responsible Saturn to get things done. Anticipate a very busy but productive start to the week. Expansive conversations, ideas, or opportunities may arrive this week, although you won’t slow down enough until the very end of May/beginning of June to really assess if and how you are going to pursue them. Take it all in cruising onwards!

5/8-6/2 HAPPY HOUR.

Venus moves into the chatty sign of Gemini over the next four weeks making you more communicative and expressive about your needs regarding love or money. Getting super social increases odds of success in the bedroom or at the bank.

Personally, there will be lots of flirtatious banter, texting (and sexting), photo ops, social media shares, virtual dates, and online matchmaking. The stars also favor quick trips, so pencil in a weekend getaway with your sweetheart.

Professionally, getting social with business associates could turn from casual into cash as conversations turn into opportunities. There could be a business or legal negotiation that arises at the end of the month and gets solidified in June.

In all cases, watch for things to peak during the last weekend of the month 5/27-29.

5/11 TAURUS NEW MOON. This monthly New Moon brings pleasure and ease so consider slowing down, going with the flow, putting work away early, and letting things unfold naturally during mid-week. You will be happy to discover that the people or pursuits which bring simple joy right now will become an increased part of your life in November.

5/13-7/28 ATTITUDE SHIFT.

Jupiter- planet of growth- temporarily transitions into Pisces over the next three months designating an attitude shift throughout society. Positively used, this makes everyone more compassionate, creative, and intuitive. Negatively used, watch for passive aggressive behavior, martyrdom, false saviors, or denial between now and the end of July. In your own life, pay close attention to the areas of heightened focus from May-July as Jupiter is providing a sneak preview to what your life will be all about come 2022- so don’t overlook your chance to peek into the future.

Jupiter into Pisces could also signal wet weather over the summer; prepare for that humidity by treating yourself to a new umbrella and extra face powder. Jupiter’s transition will also resurrect the arts and water-based travel over the summer; socially-distanced theater and music performances, cruises, and international beach destinations will be coming back.

5/14 WARNING: RETRO-SHADE. Pay close attention to the people or circumstances which are prominent this week as those are the exact things that will get retrograded come June. It doesn’t mean they won’t work out in your favor- it just means that they will require more work than you may now anticipate. So make note in your journal about who/what is your feature story this week, and then watch for my 5/29 post about Mercury Retrograde for the full scoop.

5/23-10/10 RESPONSIBILITY REVIEW.  Saturn- planet of rules & responsibilities- takes its reverse trek over the next five months inviting a review investments and commitments until October. What significant life improvements have been building from December 2020-May 2021? Consider how or with whom time, energy, or finances are committed—is that building you up towards greater happiness, or is it building a fence that keeps you trapped? If there are any significant obligations that you need to get out of, then do what’s needed to get yourself freed up by October. You’ve got five months to install the nuts-and-bolts of more fulfilling life avenues you’ve been working to attain since holiday season last year.

Collectively, the Saturn Retrograde period will review President Biden’s initial debut in the Oval Office since he was elected at the end of last year, successes and failures of the vax, and post-pandemic social regulations.

5/26 SAGITTARIUS LUNAR ECLIPSE.

Lights, camera, action- anticipate a big turning point over the next four days as this mega eclipse starts the steamroll of events that will rollercoaster throughout June. You might soon make a big announcement, debut a finished project, wrap up a pending negotiation, or escalate a romance. People and events will be very active from mid-week ‘til the weekend. In some cases, this may link back to situations already emerging in December 2020 (or as far back as June 2020); assess that timeframe on subtle levels as the connection may not be obvious at first.

On the world stage we’ll see issues related to travel, media, social media, digital privacy, student education, and going local become highlighted from late May into June.

5/27-29 NOT WHAT IT SEEMS. The last four days of May are a mixed bag, where something outstanding is likely to occur but it might not be what it seems. Venus- the rich socialite of the zodiac- could seal a deal in love, money, or publicity as she unites with messenger Mercury. However, the Mercury Retrograde cycle begins at the same time. This signals that whatever/whomever is hot at the end of the month might not last as long as you’d like or might not go off without a hitch. That being said, it shouldn’t deter you from pursuing passionate people or projects. Just know that more to the story is yet to reveal itself in June. As they say in showbiz: “To Be Continued...”

5/29-6/22 GEMINI MERCURY RETROGRADE.

The summer Mercury Retrograde is officially here. What people or events have been prominent since around 5/13? Those are the things that get retrograded over the next three weeks, so put your work gloves on throughout June. Mercury Retrograde ends on 6/22 but takes until 7/8 to fully realign, so stay tuned to see how it really shakes out.

On the world stage, the Gemini Mercury Retrograde reviews issues related to:

  • travel restrictions

  • data privacy

  • media/social media

  • supply chain logistics

  • education reform

  • foreign policy

  • local community advocacy

This retrograde will especially affect technology, communication, and transportation. So arrive early at your transit station, buy refundable tickets, keep precious valuables with you instead of handing them off to the concierge, back up digital media, don’t ignore those humming car problems, double-check that messages are actually sent, pre-empt laptop and cell phone mishaps, and be ready to clarify misunderstandings.
